IAS Anjum Perwez appointed as ACS to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Anjum Parwez, a 1994 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Additional to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka. 

Perwez, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary for both the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, as well as the Forest, Ecology, and Environment Department, will continue to retain his assignment while serving in the top office. 

In a related development, L K Atheeq, who was on extension serving as Additional Chief Secretary to CM Siddaramaiah, resigned from his post. The chief minister, had extended the services of L.K. Atheeq, who was superannuated on January 31, this year. 

However, Atheeq will continue to serve as the of Bengaluru Business Corridor (BBC) Limited, which is meant to decongest traffic and improve connectivity in Bengaluru. 

Who is Anjum Perwez?

Anjum Parwez is an IAS officer of the 1994 batch from the Karnataka cadre. All along with as an IAS officer, he has served various departments in Karnataka and has rich and varied experience and knowledge in the fields of urban and rural development, water supply and transport. 

He had served Karnataka in various capacities, to name a few: Principal Secretary (Transport), Managing Director (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited) etc.

Parwez holds a degree in B.Tech from the prestigious IIT, and PGPM from IIM Bangalore.
