Drishti IAS founder Divyakirti moves Raj HC against Ajmer court’s summon

Vikas Divyakirti, IAS aspirants mentor and director of Drishti IAS coaching institute, has filed an appeal in the against the local , which has summoned Divyakirti to appear in the court on July 22, 2025. 

The Ajmer Judicial Magistrate Court has initiated proceedings against Divyakirti for allegedly making derogatory remarks on the judges.

The High Court will hear the appeal in July 21, a day before Divyakirti had to appear before Ajmer court. 

Vikas Divyakirti's lawyer Puneet Singhvi said, It has been said in the appeal that we have not hurt anyone's feelings. The criminal proceeding initiated against us by the Ajmer Judicial Magistrate Court is wrong.

The complainant had said against Vikas Divyakirti- Vikas Divyakirti used derogatory and satirical language against the judiciary in a video.

What is the controversy? 

In the petition, an Ajmer based lawyer Kamlesh Mandoliya has alleged that Divyakriti has made objectionable remarks over collegium system implemented for the selection of High Court Judge.

 Mandoliya referred to clipping of a video titled “IAS versus , who is powerful,” where Divyakirti is seen saying that a lot of ‘jugaad' needs to do for becoming a high court or a Supreme Court judge.

The court was told that in the controversial video, Divyakirti allegedly claimed that files of potential judges could be delayed through govt red tape, even after collegium approval.

He also allegedly made controversial comparisons between the powers of district judges and district magistrates, suggesting that judicial power is dependent on cooperation of police and administration.
