Troubles intensify for cricketer Yash Dayal as Rajasthan High Court refused grant him any relief in a rape case registered under the POCSO Act.
The high court has not yet stayed the arrest and police action. The victim's lawyer, who appeared in the hearing, opposed Yash Dayal's plea.
In the court, Yash Dayal pleaded that he has been framed under conspiracy. The high court is now expected to hear the matter in the first week of September.
In the previous hearing, the Rajasthan High Court had refused to stay the arrest of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal in the case.
The high court had clearly said that the victim is a minor, so the arrest and police action cannot be stayed. The court had summoned the case diary in this case.
What is the case?
On July 23 this year, a young woman had registered a rape case against Yash Dayal at Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur. The victim had said that she was an emerging cricketer. She had met Yash in 2023. She was a 17-year-old minor then. The victim alleged that Yash emotionally and physically abused her by promising to help her pursue a career in cricket.
The victim said that the first incident of physical abuse took place in 2023 when Yash called her to a hotel in Sitapura area of Jaipur. He raped her there. This continued for two years.
Earlier in July, a woman from Ghaziabad had also accused Yash of physically and emotionally abusing him for five years by falsely promising marriage. Yash had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in this case on which the court had stayed his arrest on July 15.
