Ex RPSC member Manju Sharma moves division bench, seeks removal of comments by single bench 

Manju Sharma, the former member of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), has moved division bench of High seeking removal of the comments made against him by single bench during pronouncement of order regarding

The single bench of the High Court on August 28 had made serious remarks on integrity and fairness of the RPSC members while recommending cancellation of SI recruitment-2021 (Sub Inspector).

Pained by the remarks, Manju Sharma had tendered resignation which was duly accepted by the Governor on September 15, 2025. Now Sharma has sought removal of comments which according to her has tarnished her image and reputation.

What Manju Sharma sought?

She has stated before the division bench that harsh and unwarranted remarks have been made against her, even though she was neither made a party in this petition nor given an opportunity to be heard.

“The appeal stated that damaging the reputation of a public official on the basis of a mentioning contact only is a breach of justice.

“The comments of the court have been made without any concrete evidence. There are no audio recordings, direct witness details or any audit trail of marking of the recruitment , which is sufficient to convict. Personal observations have been made without occasion of a hearing, which is a violation of the principles of natural justice and Articles 14 and 21,” Manju Sharma said. 

Sharma alleged that the court's comments led to increase in and she was forced to resign.

What Court had said?

The single bench of the high court, in its August 28 order, had made serious remarks on the then chairman and members of the RPSC. Justice Sameer Jain had written in his judgement- Shobha Raika, the daughter of former member Ramu Ram Raika, got good marks in the interview of SI recruitment.

For that, Raika met Sanjay Shrotriya, the then president of the RPSC and other members of the RPSC, including Babu Lal Katara, Manju Sharma, Sangeeta Arya and Jaswant Rath to ensure that her daughter passes the interview. 

“The participation of these members indicates corruption in the entire system within the RPSC, threatening the credibility of the recruitment process at both the interview and the written examination stages,” the single bench of High Court had commented.
