Two judges in Punjab have come under the radar of Central Bureau of Investigation in the aftermath of arresting DIG of Ropar range Harcharan Singh Bhullar.
The suspended DIG was produced in a special CBI court today on completion of his five-day remand. The CBI has sought five-day remand.
Bhullar and middleman Krishna's WhatsApp chat has revealed that they both used to influence the decisions of the courts by colluding with the judges. In this episode, the CBI has identified two judicial officers from Chandigarh and Mohali.
During the investigation, the CBI has come to know that Bhullar also used his influence to alter the judgements of the courts. Both the judicial officers are on the CBI's radar. The CBI is collecting evidence on the basis of the chat of those judges with Bhullar.
Judicial officers were gifted with foreign trips
It was found in the CBI investigation that the two judicial officers were not only given money but also foreign trips to pass judgement in favour of clients facilitated by Bhullar and Krishna. CBI has collected evidence of foreign trips of judicial officers.
The CBI has found several important pieces of evidence during the raids at five places besides the house of Bhupinder Singh, owner of BH Properties in Patiala and the house of a property dealer in Ludhiana.
Among the items recovered by the CBI in the raid, Rs 20.5 lakh in cash, three digital devices, 7 to 8 files, about 23 property documents and transaction records of property dealers have been taken into possession.
These documents have given clues to the CBI that the suspended DIG Bhullar used to invest money through these property dealers to create assets in excess of his income.
