Siddharth Mahajan, a 2003 batch officer from Rajasthan cadre, who was serving as joint secretary in Department of Commerce, has been prematurely repatriated on request of Rajasthan government.
Mahajan, who is considered as upfront effective officer, is likely to get a key position in the state government. He had gone on central deputation in November 2021 and returned a year before to competing five years.
On central designation, Mahajan served as joint secretary in Lok Sabha secretariat before joining department of commerce.
Earlier Mahajan, an Economics and law graduate, has served in key positions in the state government in departments like finance, medical and health, food and civil supplies and bureau of investment promotion among others.
He has also served as collectors n districts including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Baran and Sirohi.
Mahajan came on inter cadre transfer in Rajasthan from Uttarakhand
Siddharth Mahajan is married to Akanksha Mahajan, who is an Indian Forest Service officer of Rajasthan cadre. She is also a 2003 batch officer. Siddharth Mahajan who was earlier allotted Uttarakhand cadre, came to Rajasthan on inter cadre transfer following marriage with Akansha Mahajan.
Akanksha Mahajan was on central deputation and has recently returned. She has been appointed as chief conservator of forest and director, Rajasthan Forestry and Wildlife Training Institute.
On central deputation, she was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Forests, Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi.
