Former IPS Prashant Kumar has been appointed as the new chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission.
The 1990 batch former IPS officer Kumar will have a three-year tenure.
The UP Education Service Selection Commission recruits teachers of secondary and higher education. Prashant Kumar, who was holding additional charge of DGP retired in May this year. After retirement, the Yogi government has given him important responsibility.
Prashant Kumar is native of Siwan district of Bihar. He is known in the UP Police as a quick-witted, decisive and anti-mafia officer. He is known for executing 300 encounters in his tenure.
