Udaipur district administration is planning to conduct drone survey in the Aravali region to identify encroachments and illegal construction along the oldest mountain ranges.
Udaipur Collector Namit Mehta directed officials to take strict action against any encroachment or illegal construction.
“We will not allow any illegal road construction or encroachment. All such constructions will be demolished. Strict legal action will be taken against those who damage the mountains and tamper with nature.,” he said.
Mehta was on a visit to Eklingji area in Udaipur. He was accompanied by Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) Commissioner Rahul Jain, who apprised Mehta that UDA is taking strict action against illegal constriction.
Who is Namit Mehta?
Namit Mehta is a 2012 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer. He is from Jodhpur. Namit is the grandson of Manak Mehta, who was an MLA from Pali, and the son of Kamal Mehta, who was an officer in the Rajasthan Financila Corporation, a state public sector unit. Mehta had been collector of several districts including Bhilwara, Pali, Bikaner and Jaisalmer.
Mehta is among few IAS officer, who is qualified CA and CS besides completing inter in ICWA.
