Abhay Singh, a 2007 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is under fire for allegedly torturing and threatening his mother.
His mother Rekha Singh, a native of Rajasthan, has alleged that on January 1, Abhay Singh reached Chittorgarh in Rajasthan with his wife and abused, assaulted and threatened her. She also claimed that the CCTV cameras installed in the house were broken during this time and she had to lock herself in the room when she felt her life threatened. Due to mental harassment, she had to leave her home and the threats were also made through staff.
Rekha Singh has complained about the whole matter to the chairman of the Revenue Council, who has forwarded the complaint to the Principal Secretary, Appointments Department for further action.

Abhay Singh claimed that he had gone to Chittorgarh along with the police on January 1 and had already registered an FIR there in this case. Abhay Singh also admitted that he has received the notice of the appointment department.
