The task was tough. The target was steep. And it needed sleepless nights, nervous energies and some restlessness for this accomplishment. Sign of satisfaction was writ large on the faces of at least 4 IAS officers deeply involved in organising National Conference on e-governance.
For the first time, Rajasthan government partnered with union ministries of Administrative Reforms and Electronics and Information Technology to organise this prestigious annual conference, which shapes the future of digital governance.
The two day conference is the window to the innovations and technology being implemented in governance to bring transparency and make life easier for general public.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Chief Secretary V Srinivas made contribution of every officer count in this mega summit, which saw exhibition of more than 100 digital platforms and deliberation of over 200 speakers.
Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoITC) Special Secretary and Commissioner Himanshu Gupta coordinated with central ministries and participants to make this event a grand success.

Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas is said to be the brain behind this event. Srinivas, before becoming Chief Secretary, had been Secretary to Administrative Reforms department which drives this summit. He had led this summit on couple on couple of occasions in the role of Secretary Administrative Reforms. Now donning the role as the Chief Secretary, he made sure that this time Rajasthan becomes the host state for this prestigious summit. And he monitored the preparations closely to ensure that the event becomes a great success.
Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister also closely coordinated and monitored the preparation of event to ensure the delivery as per the expectations of Chief Minister. Arora had led DoITC for a long time. He is the person who revamped the department and introduced several e-governance models to the state. Since he has keen interest in technology and e-governance, it was easier for DoITC to get necessary approvals from Chief Minister for hosting the event.
Dr. Ravi Kumar Surpur, Secretary, DoITC, played a key role in organising this event. Though Surpur is a graduate in medicine and surgery, he has a great knack for technology. He led his team to host one of the largest summit on e-governance the state has ever hosted.
The summit may pave way for innovations and modern IT practices in governance of state.
Himanshu Gupta, Special Secretary Commissioner DoITC played on front foot in this mega summit. He deployed all his resources to ensure that the event leaves an indelible mark. He coordinated with union ministries of Administrative Reforms and MEITY along with knowledge partners NASSCOM and MNIT to set the ball rolling. He took regular reviews and monitored daily progress to ensure flawless hosting of the summit.
