More than 150 ENT specialists from across the country gathered in Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) to participate in a one-day educational, skill-enhancement programme – Otosphere – 2026 under the International Deaf Week celebrations.
Experts brainstormed and discussed different types of deafness, ear diseases and their latest treatment.
RUHS College Principal and Senior ENT Surgeon Dr. Mohnish Grover said that special sessions on endoscopic ear surgery, tympanoplasty, cochlear implant, AIM technique, different types of hearing loss, facial palsy and other complex otological conditions were held in the programme.
“Different types of ear surgery techniques were also explained through live and recorded surgical videos. Some specialists also held a panel discussion on the topic “Intra Operative Problem in Otology to get the best results,” he said.
Grover said that the objective of the programme was to familiarise ENT specialists with new surgical techniques and treatment methods as well as to discuss policy topics related to management of complex ear diseases and prevention of deafness, treatment.
“By organising this kind of event, doctors of Rajasthan get more and more information about the latest technologies related to the treatment of deafness and modern ENT services, which benefits the patients,” he said.
Among other specialists, Dr. Amit Sharma, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Dr. Vijay Ghakar, Dr. Grace Buddiraja, Dr. Rashmi Agarwal other senior faculty members were also present.
