The Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU) under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is underway in this heritage city under the leadership of Bikaner Collector Nishant Jain and Bikaner Municipal Commissioner Siddharth Palanichamy. The two young officers have worked together in Barmer also, where Jain was Collector and Palanichamy was the CEO, District Council.
In the last five months, there have been several initiatives to clean up the city and transform difficult-to-clean or recurring garbage spots into vibrant spaces through active community participation.
“It can be achieved through community participation and top to bottom drive. We are serious in making Bikaner one of the cleanest and beautiful cities in the country,” said a senior official.
