Three weeks ahead of his retirement Anjay Vishwakarma, Senior Deputy General Manager of Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Ajmer for taking bribe of Rs 50,000.
The ACB also arrested Junior Assistant Kamlesh Gurjar for taking bribes of Rs 30,000. Vishwakarma is scheduled to retire on July 31 this year.
The duo was demanding bribe against issuing lease after the plot allotment and also allowing the change of product.
According to the information, Vishwakarma, who is the unit head of Ajmer, was preparing to go to the Jaipur head office at around 2 pm on Friday, but the ACB arrested him at around 12 pm.
Additional SP Manoj Gupta, who led the trap, said the ACB had received a complaint that the officer was demanding bribe for releasing lease after the plot allotment in the Sarthana Industrial Area.
After verification of the complaint, the ACB took simultaneous trap action in Beawar and Ajmer. While Vishwakarma was arrested in Ajmer, Kamlesh Gurjar was caught red handed in Beawar.
Gupta said that the Junior Assistant Kamlesh Gurjar had sought bribe against releasing the lease while the Vishwakarma had asked money for changing the product line for the same plot.
The ACB is currently investigating the case. Search is going on at the residences and premises of both the accused.
