Smiti Chaudhary (48), a 2012 batch IPS officer of Haryana passed away after a prolonged illness. She was on leave since February 2024.
She was staying in Nashik (Maharshtra) with her husband, who is also an IPS officer. She breathed her last during treatment. Her husband Rajesh Kumar is a 1998 batch IPS officer of Maharshtra cadre, currently serving as additional director general in Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik.
Smiti Chaudhary, promoted from state police service, was posted as SP in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Ambala. She was born on 15 August 1976 in Dumarkhan village of Jind.
Her family is currently living in Panchkula. During her career she also served as a Commandant in the 1st Battalion of the Haryana Armed Police in Ambala.
Smiti Chaudhary belongs to an illustrious family of Haryana. Her mother Jaywanti Shyokand is a former IAS.
