IAS transfer – It is all about picking the right one!

A government can perform only when right officers are deputed at right place. Reshuffle of officers is just a way to find the right pick

Rajasthan has effected the transfer with surgical precision. A lot of thought has gone behind selecting IAS officers for the jobs they have been assigned. There are officers who perform silently irrespective of the posts they hold.

Bharti Dixit, a 2014 batch IAS officer, who was serving as Ajmer collector, has been transferred as mission director, National Health Mission ()

A medico, Dixit earlier had the post of additional mission director, NHM as an additional charge when she was serving as joint secretary in planning department in April 2021. 

Dixit is considered a proactive efficient officer with good track record. She had been awarded with CM Excellence Award for her exceptional performance as collector Jhalawar.

Shuchi Tyagi, who was serving as secretary cooperatives, has been transferred to transport department where she will handle the post of secretary along with commissioner transport as an additional charge. 

Similarly Archana Singh, who was serving as registrar cooperatives, has been moved to IT & Communication department where she will serve as secretary along with additional charge of commissioner IT&C and managing director Rajcomp Info Services Limited. 

Her husband Rajan Vishal, who was serving as secretary minority affairs and Waqf department, has been given better treatment this time. He has been transferred to agriculture department as secretary with an additional charge of chairman of Rajasthan State Seed Corporation Limited.

Bhagwati Prasad Kalal, who was serving as director mines, has been transferred as managing director Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML). Chief secretary Sudhansh Pant is the chairman of RSMML. 

Jogaram has been given a better posting this time. He was serving as secretary tribal area development. Now he has been transferred as secretary general administration department a long with additional charge of secretary and commissioner panchayatiraj.

Niraj K Pawan is back to secretariat after serving first as divisional commissioner Bikaner and then as the first divisional commissioner of newly created Banswara division. He is transferred as secretary sports and youth affairs. His video clips featuring himself promoting scenic beauty and tourism of Banswara was quite a discussion point on social media.

KK Pathak, who was serving as secretary in finance department, has been transferred as secretary personnel. Pathak is upright and efficient officer with intellectual bent of mind. He is an officer who is considered to handle any portfolio with equal deftness. He has been given additional charge of secretary administrative reforms and redressal of public grievance.

A silent worker Pathak has proved his mettle in whatever post he has held so far. However, he has not been given any so called ‘fancy' posting till date.

Navin Jain, an IAS officer of 2021 batch, was serving as secretary planning. Now he has been transferred to finance department and will handle the portfolio of expenditure. 

Subir Kumar, who was serving as principal secretary higher and technical education, has been transferred as principal secretary food, civil supplies and consumer affairs.

T Ravikanth, who was serving as principal secretary UDH, has been transferred to another important department of mines and petroleum. The department contributes a major portion in the revenue of state. With the starting of refinery and petrochemical complex lined up, Ravikanth has a big role to play in the overall economic development for the state.

Sreya Guha, a 1994 batch IAS officer, who was serving as additional chief secretary transport with additional charge of , has been moved to rural development department. Guha had made some innovations through IT intervention in transport department. She streamlined the operations in transport department while introducing online issuance of certificate and driving licenses. This has ruled out involvement of any middleman in the system.
