Threat of arrest hovers over IPL champion Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal as a POCSO court in Jaipur has rejected Yash's anticipatory bail plea.
Judge Alka Bansal said in the order, “Prima facie, it does not seem that the accused has been implicated in false allegations.
The investigation conducted so far reveals the involvement of the accused in the offence. The accused is yet to be questioned. In such a situation, the accused cannot be given the benefit of anticipatory bail at this stage.”
On July 23, 2025, a case was registered against Yash at Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur for raping a minor for two and a half years on pretext of emotional blackmail and false promise of making her career in cricket.
Chats, photos and videos were found in the victim's mobile
The victim's lawyer Divesh Sharma said that after the case was registered, the police recovered CDR of the victim and the accused's mobile. This confirms the dialogue between the two. Along with this, there is also a record of the stay of the two in hotels mentioned by the victim.
“The analysis of the chats, photos and videos found on the victim's mobile makes a case under POCSO against the accused,” the lawyer said.
He told the court that the accused called the victim to meet her at a hotel near the railway station while playing an IPL match in Jaipur on May 3-4, 2023 and sought sexual relation.
When the victim refused, Dayal promised to help her financially and emotionally in her father's case. Later Dayal called the girl to Kanpur on pretext of joining cricket academy there and raped her in a hotel on September 2-3, 2023.
