Anand Srivastava, a 1994 batch, IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre has been promoted to DG level with effect from June 1, 2025.
Srivastava is currently a serving as additional director general of Armed Battalions. He will continue to serve on his present post till further orders.
The elevation of Anand Srivastava will be followed by the superannuation of Hemant Priyadarshy, who is serving as director general of cyber crime and state crime research bureau. Priyadarshy, a 1992 batch IPS is retiring on May 31, 2025.
Who is Anand Srivastava?
Anand Srivastava is considered as one of the most efficient police officers in Rajasthan. He is probably the longest serving police commissioner of Jaipur. He had served on that post from December 2018 to August 2023 during Gehlot government.
He has served on key important posts including ADG Law & Order, IG Headquarter, Kota, Udaipur and Bharatpur range.
He has also served as SP in Baran, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Jaipur districts.
Srivastava's wife Smita Srivastava is serving as additional director general in ACB. She is a 1995 batch IPS officer.
There are speculations that Anand Srivastava may be appointed as DG ACB after the incumbent DG ACB Ravi Prakash Meharda retires in June this year. This is likely to happen when his wife Smita Srivastava is transferred from ACB. Sanjay Agrawal, a 1992 batch IPS is another contender for DG, ACB. He is currently serving as DG, Intelligence.
