PM Modi Explores Kaziranga Park and Unveils Development Projects in Assam

On his maiden visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Kaziranga, PM Modi first took the elephant safari in the park followed by the jeep safari.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a thrilling adventure through 's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday. His journey began with an elephant ride in the Mihimukh area of the park, followed by a jeep ride in the same area. Accompanying him were park director Sonali Ghosh and other forest officials.

“This morning, I visited the Kaziranga National Park in Assam. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a beautiful place with diverse plants and , including the amazing one-horned rhinoceros,” PM Modi shared on social media.

During his visit, PM Modi met with Van Durga, a team of women forest guards who are at the forefront of conservation efforts in the park. He praised their dedication and courage in protecting the forests and wildlife.

“Interacted with Van Durga, the team of women forest guards who are at the forefront of conservation efforts, bravely protecting our forests and wildlife. Their dedication and courage in safeguarding our natural heritage is truly inspiring,” PM said.

Kaziranga National Park is renowned for its biodiversity, housing various animals like one-horned rhinoceroses, elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, and tigers. PM Modi encouraged people to visit the park, highlighting its natural beauty and the warmth of the people of Assam.

As part of his tour in Assam, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for several development projects. He unveiled an 84-feet high statue of Lachit Borphukan, a famous General of the Ahom Kingdom who defeated the Mughals. Additionally, he initiated the construction of the Lachit and Tai-Ahom Museum and a 500-seater auditorium.

Under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for the North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE) scheme, PM Modi laid foundation stones for projects such as a & in Sivasagar and a Hemato-Lymphoid centre in Guwahati. He also marked the expansion of Digboi Refinery and inaugurated several other crucial projects, including a new medical college and hospital in Tinsukia and the Barauni–Guwahati Pipeline.

PM Modi also dedicated significant railway projects worth over Rs 1300 crore in Assam, including sections of the New Bongaigaon–Guwahati and New Bongaigaon–Agthori Doubling Projects.

The Prime Minister's visit not only celebrated the natural beauty of Kaziranga but also signaled a commitment to the development and prosperity of Assam through various infrastructure and welfare projects.
