Rajasthan energy secretary and chairperson Discoms Arti Dogra has asked financial institutions and banks to simplify loan procedure for solar projects under PM-KUSUM scheme, where Rajasthan is leader in the country with 2034 solar plants generating 4,468 MW.
Ensuring state government's commitment of ease of doing business, Dogra held a meeting with bankers urging them to disburse loans to solar power developers on priority basis after completing necessary formalities and procedures.
“PM-KUSUM is a scheme of national importance. It aims at making farmers self-reliant in the energy sector and promote the use of green energy in agriculture. Banks should make loan process smooth so that solar plants can be installed at a faster pace,” she said.

Monthly camps to be organised at Zonal level
It was decided in the meeting that from July onwards camps will be organised at zonal offices of Discoms every month. In these camps, representatives of banks, loan applicants for setting up solar power plants and DISCOM officials will ensure prompt disposal of loan applications. This will further accelerate the speed of installation of solar plants under PM-KUSUM scheme strengthening the lead of the state.
