It was raining awards for Rajasthan in the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Yojana. The state received awards in four different categories. Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi presented the award Energy Secretary and Discoms Chairperson Arti Dogra at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.
The PM Suryaghar Yojana was launched two years back. During this period, Rajasthan was awarded the second prize among states 90 lakh to 1.50 crore power consumers. The state recorded highest application, installation, inspection and registration of vendors of roof top solar power plants during the month of May.
Similarly, Jaipur was awarded for clinching 7th position among top 10 best districts of the country for maximum installations.
Jaipur DISCOM's Superintending Engineer (PM Suryaghar) Mahima Sarabhai received the honour. Apart from that, Milan Saur Urja Kendra was awarded second prize for installing roof top solar set ups in the month of May under the vendor category.
During the month of May this year, as many as 39,279 applicants were registered in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Discoms, 27,700 applications were physically verified, 26,632 roof top solar were installed and 177 new vendors were added to the scheme.
