Rajasthan to hold its maiden MEA State Outreach Conference on July 16

On the back of National Conference on e-Governance (NCEG), which was held for the first time ever in Rajasthan early this month, the state will now hold its maiden MEA State Outreach Conference on July 16 in association with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). From the state government, Department of Domestic and Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA) and Rajasthan Foundation are the nodal departments.

The purpose is to connect more effectively with the state government , inform them about MEA's  programmes and schemes for overseas Indians, and consular initiatives, and seek cooperation and assistance of state government in addressing issues which are common to both sides.

The one- day summit will have thematic sessions on welfare of overseas Indians, safe and legal migration, passport services, skill development, investment and tourism. These sessions will be addressed by senior officials of MEA and Rajasthan government including Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas, Secretary (CPV and OIA) MEA Sripriya Ranganathan, Director General of Police Rajeev Sharma, DORA and Industries ACS Shikhar Agarwal, ACS Home Bhaskar Sawant, Tourism Secretary , DORA Commissioner and Special Secretary Dr. Manisha Arora, RIICO Managing Director Suresh Kumar Ola and Commissioner Industries Neelabh Saxena among others. 

First time in Rajasthan

The MEA State Outreach Conference was launched by the Ministry of External Affairs in the year 2017. This event is being organised for the first time in Rajasthan. It has been organised in collaboration with Telangana, Kerala, , Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, , Haryana, Punjab, Tripura, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh.

Who all will attend?

The event will also be attended by stakeholders from other departments, including 20 major state-leading recruitment agents authorised by the Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship. 

Also, ADMs and representative of NSDCs and industry organisations from across 15 districts will also participate in the conference. 

Apart from that, presidents and representatives of all the 40 chapters of Rajasthan Foundation will be connected through VC.
