Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) has been empowered to change the use of land in its industrial areas.
The Rajasthan assembly has passed The Rajasthan Land Revenue (Amendment and Legalisation) Bill, 2025, which awards the right to change of land use completely to RIICO for land parcels available in its earmarked industrial areas.
Through this Act, the Rajasthan Land Revenue Act, 1956 has been amended. RIICO will now be able to give approvals of land use from the sub-division to all levels.
RIICO can change the land use of industrial to commercial without sending the file to revenue department, which was the practice earlier.
With this RIICO will be able to do all kinds of transfers, mergers of sub divisions or plots, regularisation, land use changes at its level. Rico will be able to exercise all rights including development, planning, licensing and granting of plots in industrial areas,” said parliamentary affairs minister Jogaram Patel.
The government had decided to amend the land revenue law after the recent Supreme Court order, which lifted the ban on change of land use in RIICO industrial areas.
