The man behind ED raids pleads BJP rebel Asha Meena to withdraw

Meena strongman Rajya Sabha member and BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur Kirodi Lal Meena is seen pleading before BJP rebel Asha Meena to withdraw. In a viral video, Meena is seen and heard requesting Asha Meena to withdraw her candidature.

“I will hold her legs and I can even put jooti on my head to persuade her not to contest ,” he said in a public .

Meena said that he has attained 72 years of age and after five years he will retire at the age of 77.

“I will be relegated to bed after that. She has lot of time in hands to pursue politics. I tender a public apology to her if I have done anything wrong. She must withdraw her nomination,” Meena said.

Kirodi Lal Meena, who had been persuading the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to take action against officers and ministers involved in , paper leak, DoIT scam, is now ‘prostrating' before Asha Meena for ensuring victory in election.

Why Meena is pleading before Asha Meena ?

Asha Meena is a strong candidate and has good following in Sawai Madhopur. In last elections she contested on BJP ticket and lost to Congress sitting MLA Danish Abrar by more than 25,000 votes.

Asha Meena is wife of RAS officer Hari Singh Meena. She is sister-in-law of senior IAS officer Kunji Lal Meena.

This time BJP denied her the ticket and gave chance to Kirodi Lal Meena, who had won this seat on BJP ticket in 2003. But he lost twice in 2008 and 2013 as an independent and as a candidate of P A Sangma's National People's Party (NPP).

In Sawai Madhopur, there are 60,000 Meena voters. 40,000 Muslim voters, 45,000 scheduled , 40,000 and remaining are from other castes including Brahmin, Bania and Rajputs.

Divide in Meena votes

For winning, Kirodi Lal Meena needs maximum of the Meena votes. But if Asha Meena doesn't withdraw, Meena votes will split and Kirodi Lal may lose the election.
