Daulal Vaishnaw, father of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, passed away on Tuesday morning. He had been unwell for some time and was recently admitted to AIIMS hospital in Jodhpur after his condition deteriorated. He was suffering from lung disease.
According to the Jodhpur AIIMS, he breathed his last at 11:52 am on Tuesday.
He was originally a resident of Jivand Kala in Pali district and had later settled in Jodhpur with his family.
He was sarpanch in his village and has played an active role in social work. He also worked for a long time as a lawyer and tax consultant in Jodhpur.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also reached Jodhpur this morning. He had reached AIIMS directly from the airport. For a long time he sat holding his father's hand. His father's lungs were damaged.
The funeral will be held in the afternoon. His last rites will be performed at the crematorium at Siwanchi Gate in Jodhpur this afternoon. He is survived by wife Saraswati Vaishnaw, elder son Ashwini Vaishnaw and younger son Anand Vaishnaw.
