Jaipur police has entered into an agreement with a trade and industry body – Federation of Rajasthan Trade & Industry (FORTI) – to help and rehabilitate crime victims.
Under this understanding, Jaipur Police refers victims to FORTI, which evaluates and extend financial and social support to the victim through coordinated efforts.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur (West) Amit Kumar Budania has referred atleast seven cases from his jurisdiction and helped victims in these cases get financial and rehabilitation support from FORTI members. These victims included rape victim, orphans and old age persons.
“Police is accountable to curb crime and nab criminals. At the same time, we have to be compassionate towards victims also. Their rehabilitation is also important,” said DCP West Amit Kumar.
Jaipur Police FORTI jointly supervise the rehabilitation plan without disclosing the identity of the victim. The rehabilitation plan includes education support, skill development and vocational training, financial aid and grants.
“The rehabilitation plan is primarily for victims including women, children, senior citizens and severely ill or disabled victims,” Kumar said.
