Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), the agency which recruits officers for state government, has appointed three new members – former IPS officer Hemant Priyadarshi, educationist Dr Sushil Kumar Bissu and cancer specialists Dr Ashok Kumar Kalwar.
With these appointments, the commission now has 7 members while three posts are still vacant. Recently, Manju Sharma, a member appointed by Congress government has resigned from her post – a year before completion of her term. Now the commission has four members – Manju Sharma, Kailash Chand Meena, Lt. Col Kesari Singh Rathore and Ayub Khan – appointed by the past Congress government.
The BJP government had earlier appointed former DGP UR Sahu as chairman. With Hemant Priyadarshy as member, the commission now has two senior former IPS officers working together to uplift the image of the commission.
Apart from Priyadarshy, Dr Ashok Kalwar, who is a cancer specialist, has also been appointed. He is from Jodhpur and has a close association with RSS.
The commission has also appointed Dr Sushil Kumar Bissu as member. He comes from the field of higher education. He is associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRMS), an organisation of college and university teachers linked to the RSS ideology.
