Madhya Pradesh govt transfers 26 IAS officers

Ahead of Madhya Pradesh chief Mohan Yadav's foreign trip to Davos (Switzerland), the Madhya Pradesh government has effected a major administrative reshuffle and transferred 26 IAS officers.

In this administrative surgery, new faces have been given responsibility in key departments such as tourism, tribal work, health, home, culture, energy and commerce. The government's focus is clearly on performance, departmental coordination and rapid implementation of the schemes.

Dilip Yadav, who was removed from the post of municipal commissioner in the Indore contaminated water incident, has been rewarded with ‘promotion' within 16 days. He has now been made the managing director (MD) of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Corporation.

Earlier, he was sent to Bhopal on January 2 as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

The most important change has come in tourism department where secretry to chief minister T. Ilayaraja has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of tourism department.

At the same time, Tarun Rathi has been made tribal commissioner. These changes are being seen as a strategic administrative preparation of the government.

After this transfer order issued, the movement from the ministry to the district level has intensified.

Shiv Shekhar Shukla has been removed from the tourism department and given the responsibility of the home and culture department. Experienced officers have also been appointed in departments such as health, energy and commerce.

In administrative circles, it is being seen in connection with the preparation of upcoming plans, investments and social plans.

The government believes that this change will give new momentum and clear direction to the administration.
