Dr Artika Shukla, who is serving as Alwar Collector has been awarded for outstanding contribution in energy conservation at the Rajasthan Energy Conservation Awards function.
Shukla has remarkable contribution in Promotion of Energy Efficiency in Alwar district. She ensured community participation involving public representatives, officials to raise awareness for energy conservation in the district.
“She organised painting competition, rallies, slogan competition and exhibitions in schools to create awareness about energy conservation,” said a senior official.
Shukla also set up energy clubs in government schools to help inculcate energy saving instincts among school children.
Apart from Shukla, 72 organisations and individuals were felicitated for their valuable contribution in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency.
While giving away the awards, Rajasthan energy minister Heeralal Nagar said that the state government is working with full commitment towards making the country Net Zero by the year 2070 and a developed India by the year 2047.
Ajitabh Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy said that efforts are being made under the State Energy Action Plan to promote energy conservation.
“Energy efficiency and conservation is a challenging task, for this there is a need for effective use of modern technologies,“ he said.
Rohit Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited said that Rajasthan is the leading state in the country with 42 GW of renewable energy capacity.
“Decentralised solar energy is also being promoted rapidly through the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar and Kusum Yojana. In such a situation, work is also being done vigourously on energy conservation in the state,” he said.
