A couple from Jaipur – Pramod Gupta and Anita Gupta – who shares birthday on same day (July 16), embarked on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar – the most sought after destination for Hindu pilgrims.
The 2000-km journey included all forms of traveling except – aquatic. First they went by train to Delhi and then after enjoying hospitality of Uttar Pradesh government for couple of days – they went to Sikkim through aerial route. There from Sikkim there were transports to a China Border by road.
And then traveling by foot starts. They walked through the hilly terrains where oxygen concentration is on lower bracket. It was not only the test of their belief in Hindu religion but also a test of their physical fitness which they both have conserved doing 10-15 kms of walk everyday.
The trip to Kailash Mansarovar was ne in alive time opportunity for the duo. They applied through Ministry of External Affairs and then their names were chosen in a lucky draw.
Their visit was probably certain. That's the reason why in the first batch, they failed to clear the waiting list in which their names were marked. The first batch went off leaving a mark of desperation on their faces. However, when there is a direct call from the God, who can stop them. To contrary to the popular practice, their name appeared in the second list.
Generally those who fail to clear the first waiting list do not feature in subsequent lists. But here the stars were favouring them. They missed the first batch but in a couple of days, they were invited for the second match.
