Former Director General (Prisons) of Rajasthan Police Arun Dugar died at the age of 81. He is father-in-law of Amit Lodha, who is an IPS officer of Bihar cadre. Lodha had written a book -Bihar Diaries – which was the base of the Netflix series Khakee. Lodha, a 1998 batch IPS officer, He is currently serving as ADG for Wireless and Technical Services in Bihar Police.
Dugar, 1969 batch officer was considered an efficient and result oriented officer. He had served on several key positions including ADG Crime, ADG Intelligence, ADG ACB and DIG Jaipur Range among others.
Dugar also served Superintendent of Police in 7 districts including Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Tonk, Jalore, Banswara and Udaipur.
The cremation of Dugar will take place at Adarsh Nagar Cremation Ground in Jaipur on July 17.
DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma said that Arun Dugar was a skilful, honest and conscientious police officer.
“During his long service, he did excellent work in empowering the Rajasthan Police and in the spirit of public service. His contribution to the police department and society will always be remembered,” he said.
