Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas reviewed the progress of externally aided projects run in collaboration with various international financial institutions.
These global financial institutions include World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAICA) and New Development Bank.
The projects are majorly in the areas like road infrastructure, energy, drinking water, water resources, drainage, sanitation, environment and climate change in the state. The review meeting had presence of senior officers including
ACS Water Resources Abhay Kumar ACS Forest Anand Kumar, ACS Public Works Department Praveen Gupta, ACS UDH Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary PHED Hemant Kumar Gera and Principal Secretary Finance Vaibhav Galriya among others.
Srinivas directed that all executive agencies and concerned departments to work in coordination with financial institutions to complete the projects within the stipulated time limit. He also directed to regularly review the progress of the projects and ensure timely resolution of the pending works.
While appreciating the work being done by the Public Works Department and Self Governance Department, Srinivas said that other departments should also adopt the best practices of departments that have shown remarkable progress. He directed to ensure timely utilisation of funds received from financial institutions while maintaining financial discipline, so that there is no unnecessary financial burden on the state budget.
Rs 31,000 crore projects underway
Principal Secretary Finance Vaibhav Galriya said that the state government has 12 projects worth more than Rs 31,000 crore are under implementation. These projects are related to Self Governance department, Water Resources, Forest, PWD, Energy, PHED, UDH and Finance Department.
“Apart from that, four projects worth more than Rs 23,000 crore are in the pipeline,” he said.
