IAS Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar sent on a 10-day custody in KPSC exam scam

, who was arrested by CID in connection with irregularities in Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has been sent on a 10-day custody. 

The alleged mastermind , who was arrested by CID in , has also been sent to custody for 10 days. Kannale is a Tumkur University syndicate member and is also linked to the BJP in Bidar. Some of his photographs with state BJP leaders, including Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra, went viral on Monday.

Gangwar served as Controller of Examination in the KPSC from February 2024 to March 2026 before being transferred as Director .

Sources said that the probe team suspects that Kannale may have played a central role in carrying out the irregularities and hence, sought custody to question him to ascertain the facts. CID also suspects that crucial evidence may have been tampered with by the suspects, along with manipulation of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets and destruction of CCTV feed.

KPSC, which conducts competitive exams for government jobs in Karnataka, is facing scrutiny over allegations of irregularities in the final selection process for the Veterinary Officers' Recruitment Exam.
