IAS Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar questioned by CID in KPSC scam

Trouble brewed for IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar after Criminal Investigation Department (CID) grilled him for more than nine hours over allegations of irregularities in veterinary examination conducted by (KPSC). 

Gangwar, a 2016 batch IAS officer is currently serving as Director MSME in department. He had served as the Controller of Examinations at the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) when the controversial veterinary officer recruitment examination was conducted. 

There are allegations that Gangwar received around Rs 1.1 crore from two candidates who appeared for the examination, whose OMR sheets were tampered with.

After the interrogation, the CID cops said that Gangwar has been questioned to know about his role in  irregularities surfaced in the examination. 

“We have summoned Gangwar based on primary evidence collected in the case. We cannot exactly say if he will be issued a notice to appear again or be arrested,” a senior officer said.

Meanwhile Pralhad Joshi alleged that the led state government is irregularities n KPSC. 

“The state government itself is involved in the KPSC scam. Its IAS officer, who was the KPSC controller of examinations, has gone missing and is not available for investigation, which clearly shows the government's role. The government itself arranged his escape, as its fault would emerge if he were available. He cannot disappear without the government's protection,” he said.
