In a major crackdown against illegal drug trade, the Bikaner has arrested 171  accused in 135 cases in last three months under Operation Neelkanth, which is aimed at dismantling the narcotics and illegal trade. 

Bikaner Mridul Kachawa said that the police has broken the backbone of illegal drug trade and soon all criminals associated with this heinous crime will be put behind bars. 

“We have launched the campaign to strike down the illegal drug trade border district. Our aim is to save from the vices of this intoxication, which has ruined several families,” he said. 

Kachawa said that the police has seized drugs worth Rs 30.80 crore including 14,076 kg of heroin, 540.49 grams of smack, 7.429 kg of opium, 3.71 kg of ganja, 474.567 kg of doda, 28.82 grams of MDMA, 156.16 grams of MD and 50,680 capsules.

Dooms day from drug peddlers

Apart from that Police, during the campaign, has also seized 18 cars, 3 -trailers, 2 Scorpios, 18 motorcycles, a camper and a Bolero used in drug trafficking and transportation. 

He said that Police will not only arrest smugglers, drug peddlers but also devastate the entire drug network and its financial sources.

“We have intensified the crackdown on illegal properties acquired from the drug trade during the operation. Illegal construction and encroachments were removed in various police station areas clearing land worth are 5 crore,” he said. 

The Bikaner Police has also Operation Neelkanth Helpline (8764507201) to involve public participation against drugs. 

“People can inform Police on this number about sale of drugs, trafficking, suspicious persons, drug bases, illegal possessions acquired from drugs and vehicles used in smuggling. Identity of the informer will be kept completely confidential,” Kachawa said.
