ED’s hawk eyes on top officials, agency probing three high profile cases simultaneously in Rajasthan

The Directorate of Enforcement is working overtime in Rajasthan. The central agency is working actively on three cases – Jal Jeevan Mission, Teachers Recruitment Exam () and Department of Information Technology and Communication (DoIT&C).

According to sources, serious complaints about multi thousand crore scam in department has also reached ED desk, which is already full.

“While ED officials are interrogating RPSC member Babulal Katara and middleman Anil Meena in REET scam, they are also trying to establish missing links in DoIT case following investigation from DoIT deputy director Ved Prakash Yadav,” sources said.

He said that the ED officials are establishing links from the digital and physical evidences gathered from raids conducted by the central agency in last few months.

“ED will interrogate more officials in all these three cases. They have got incriminating evidences and a big racket is likely to be exposed,” sources said.

Sources said that ED has conducted operations on all these cases following action by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).

“While investigating ACB has collected evidences and made recoveries on their own in these cases, ED has garnered their evidences and recoveries. If both the agencies corroborate their evidences together, picture may become more clear,” sources said.

Interestingly, ED has arrested the persons whom ACB has already interrogated in their custody.

“ACB had arrested DoIT deputy director Ved Prakash Yadav following which ED also arrested him. Similarly, ACB had taken Babulal Katara in its custody. ED also arrested him,” sources said.

RPSC Paper Leak

There have been allegations of cash for paper in the teachers recruitment examination conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission. According to investigation by ACB, paper was old to around 150 candidates for Rs 8-10 lakh per candidate. Both ACB and ED are conducting probe. RPSC member Babulal Katara is in the custody of ED.

DoIT corruption case

While cleaning up the drawers and almirah in the Yojana Bhawan, which houses DoIT office, undeclared cash of Rs 2.31 crore and one kg gold brick was found in a locked locker of an almirah. ACB swing into action and arrested deputy director Yadav under whose name the locker was allocated. Later ED filed case on the basis of ACB and recovered more gold with Rs 6 crore following the interrogation from Yadav.

Jal Jeevan Mission

There has been complaints of serious corruption in Jal Jeevan .
Two companies Ganapati Tubewell and Shree Shyam Tubewell have been involved in scam worth thousand crores. It is alleged that Ganapati Tubewell has won tenders worth Rs 900 crores through fake documents.
The ACB registered case of corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission and made some arrests. Now ED has also swung into action on the basis of ACB FIR and recovered cash and gold from officials and owners of company. ED is likely to make more arrests in this case.
