IAS Jogaram gets additional charge of Resident Commissioner

Dr. Jogaram, who is serving as secretary general administration, cabinet and ex officio chief protocol officer, has been given additional charge of resident commissioner, New Delhi. He is also looking after state motor garage and director general civil aviation. 

IAS Alok, who had recently passed away, was serving as principal resident commissioner.  The chief secretary Sudhansh is holding additional charge of chief resident commissioner. 

Apart from that an RAS officer of 2006 batch Anju Omprakash is serving as additional resident commissioner. 

What does Resident Commissioner do?

The post of Resident Commissioner, with headquarter at New Delhi, was created in 1978. The Resident Commissioner acts as special representative of the state government to liaison, maintain, contact and pursue various matters of importance of various departments pending with the Government of India, other State Governments, and through their Embassies. 

The Jodhpur House, Rajasthan House, Bikaner House, Chanakyapuri Guest House, House and offices of various departments of Government of Rajasthan in Delhi are placed under the charge of the Resident Commissioner as the supervisory authority. 

Officers of other Departments, State Undertakings and Corporations of Govt. of Rajasthan located in Delhi are to maintain liaison with the Resident Commissioner and offer all necessary help in the discharge of duties and functions narrated above. 

The department   for resident commissioner office is the General Administration Department.
