Punjab, J&K appoint senior IAS district-incharge, Rajasthan also assigns incharge

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Jammu & qnd Punjab governments have appointed senior IAS officers as “district mentors” or incharge to oversee emergency measures in case of any contingencies. 

has also handed over similar responsibilities to its senior bureaucrats. Rajasthan which has more than 1,100 kms long border with Pakistan, has atleast 7 highly sensitive districts – Jodhpur, , Barmer, Phalodi, , Hanumangarh and SriGanganagar.

Subir Kumar, who is serving as principal secretary food supply and consumer affairs has been sent to Barmer while Krishna Kunal, education secretary has been assigned Bikaner. Nithya K, who is serving as commissioner Ajmer Development Authority has been asked to march to SriGanganagar.

While Jammu & Kashmir government has appointed mentors for 7 highly sensitive districts like Poonch, Kathua, Kupwara, Rajouri, Baramula, Bandipora and Jammu, Punjab government has assigned responsibility to senior IAS officers to all 23 districts. 

The administrative Secretaries, deputed in all districts, have been handed over the task to regularly monitor health services, food and civil supplies, electricity, water supply, roads, transport, education besides ensuring better coordination between civil and military in their respective districts.

Rajasthan CM sanctions Rs 19 crore for border districts

Rajasthan chief minister has provisioned an extra budget of Rs 19 crore for the districts bordering Pakistan. The money will be spent in ensuring uninterrupted supply of food, medicines and essential goods for people of these districts. 

Bhajan Lal Sharma has also instructed all minsiter to go districts which have been assigned to them.
