Chief Secretary V Srinivas held a high-level review meeting on the supply of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state at the Secretariat on Wednesday. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary clearly said that sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG are available in the state and the general public does not need to make unnecessary purchases in any kind of panic.
He said that the system in the state is completely under control. Rajasthan is a state connected to the country's leading pipeline network system, through which regular supply of petrol, diesel and LPG continues. The state has also been assured by the central government that there will be no hinderance in the supply in future as well.
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the oil and gas companies working in the state to release the district-wise availability and distribution data of petrol, diesel and LPG on a daily basis.
He said that the stock and distribution system available at the district level will be reviewed daily so that there is no rumour or artificial shortage.
The Chief Secretary also directed to keep a strict watch on bulk open sale in petrol and diesel drums. He said the surveillance mechanism will be further strengthened to prevent illegal sale of fuel and possible leakage. The situation is being closely monitored by the administration.
Srinivas said that the general public should not pay attention to rumours and do not panic buying so that there is no pressure on the supply chain despite sufficient availability.
Ambrish Kumar, Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, said that continuous monitoring is being done at the departmental level to prevent any illegal sale of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state
Senior officials of BPCL, IOCL, HPCL, representatives of private companies supplying fuel and gas in the state, representatives of Petrol Pump Dealers Association and senior officials of Food and Civil Supplies Department were present in the meeting.
