Rajasthan has seen a quantum jump of more than 20% in renewable energy generation. The state generated 6,912 crore units of power in 2025 – up from 5,735 crore units in 2024-25.
The biggest contributor was solar with 5,992 crore units in 2025-26 as against 4,910 crore units a year back. The overall capacity of solar power in the state has touched 41 GigaWatts.
In last two years, 1,428 crore units were generated through wind power while biomass contributed 117 crore units in two years.

There were contributions from micro hydro (one crore units) and mega hydro projects (117 crore units) also.
“We are committed to lead the solar power generation in the country and enable Rajasthan emerges as the ‘Energy Engine' of the country,” said Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
He said that the state, powered by industry friendly policies, has been able to generate 12,647 crore units in two years of his governance.
“Besides, solar we are also focusing on wind, biomass, hydro and other alternative sources of power,” he said.
Effective implementation of Central Schemes
Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the impressive outcome is also because of successful implementation of central schemes like PM Kusum and PM Saur Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The state is a leader in PM Kusum Yojana with overall generation of more than 4 GigaWatts – highest in the country.
“We have also promoted central policies of National Green Hydrogen Mission and Solar Parks to attract investment in solar energy sector,” Sharma said.
