In view of local bodies and panchayat elections, Rajasthan government has transferred 53 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers. This is the second transfer list of RAS officers in a week. In transfer list released on August 11, 2026, 183 officers were reshuffled.
The state government has directed officers to join their respective postings immediately in the wake of local bodies and panchayat polls. District Collectors have been advised to relieve officers immediately without any substitute. The letter issued by the Department of Personnel (DoP) warns of strict action on non compliance of joining instructions.
Among those who have been transferred is Kalu Ram, who was sent on APO after serving as Special Assistant to Energy Minister. He has been posted as Registrar, Rajasthan University replacing Ashu Choudhary, who has been sent on APO.
Akash Ranjan, who continued to hold on to the post of Assistant Commissioner in Devasthan department since 2018 despite corruption charges and subsequent arrest by ACB, has been finally moved to SDM Sabla (Dungarpur). Akash Ranjan was trapped by ACB on charges of corruption in 2017 when he was serving as Tehsildar m Alwar. He fled and continued to be in run till ACB arrested him in 2024. Interestingly in the meantime he got promoted to RAS officer in 2019.
Despite being on run in ACB record, he continued to tender his services in Devasthan Department where he was posted as Assistant Commissioner on promotion. He was later transferred to education department for a year and gains he came back as Assistant Commissioner in Devasthan Department.
In 2024, he was suspended after getting arrested by ACB. Later web his suspension he was revoked he was again posted as Assistant Commissioner in Devasthan Department.
