Prakash Rajpurohit, who is serving as Joint Secretary in Department of of Defence Production, has been appointed as a part-time official Director (Government Director) on the board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) – a PSU which manufactures guided missile systems and allied equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.
Rajpurohit will continue in the position until further orders. He replaced Meera Mohanty, Joint Secretary (P&C), on the BDL Board.
Who is Prakash Rajpurohit?
Prakash Rajpurohit is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre. He is on central deputation since April 2025. Before becoming Joint Secretary in Ministry of Defence, he served as Director in Department of Economic Affairs in Finance Ministry.
An upright officer, Rajpurohit has served as Commercial Tax Commissioner and Collector of districts like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Alwar, Hanumangarh and Banswara among other key positions in Rajasthan.
