Artist IAS Purna Chandra Kishan makes the most of his APO time

Purna Chandra Kishan, a 2005 IAS officer, who has been waiting for posting order for more than 45 days since his repatriation from central deputation, is making the most of his idle time.

Having not been given any official , he is busy pursuing his talent. A multitalented and skilled officer, Kishan is a poet, painter, sculptor and musician. Recently, he put up an excellent artwork – oil on canvas painting Miyan Mallhar in a painting exhibition at Rajasthan Centre. Though Kishan was not there to receive Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas who appreciated Kishan's style of painting on X after visiting the exhibition.

Kishan was serving as Joint Secretary (Marketing) in Union before returning to home cadre. He had then even mesmerised Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also with his talent. During a presentation, he recited Sanskrit Shloka in his musical voice and the Minister could not help appreciating him in presence of senior officials from across the country.

“It's been more than 45 days that Kishan has come back from central deputation. He should get posting. The state government must make use of available resources. Given the immense talent Kishan has, we may see more such exhibitions and concerts if his posting is delayed further,” said a senior IAS officer.

Apart from Kishan, two more IAS officers are also put on APO. Khajan Singh, who was member Tax Board, has been waiting for posting order since December 24, 2025. The state government has merged the Tax Board with Revenue Board.

Another IAS officer, Shailaja Pandey, a 2021 batch officer, who has joined Rajasthan cadre from Bihar on grounds of her marriage with Gaurav Garg, a 2015 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer. Shailaja has been on APO since December 10, 2025.
