Along with other Ayodhya-related issues, this question is also being raised in some quarters. Why was 22 January 2024 picked as the date for enshrining Lord Ram in the temple? Is it because the ruling class will get political benefit from it, as elections to a new Lok Sabha will happen a few months from now? This is the most popular theory among critics. However, the history of democracy in the country shows that as much as promises are beneficial in elections, fulfillment of promises is not as beneficial. Therefore, the concrete reason must be something else and astrology points towards that reason.
On this day, there will be an auspicious time window of 84 seconds for the consecration of Ram Lalla's idol. But wouldn't such moments keep coming in future? Not quite. Such an auspicious moment will not recur at least this ongoing year for the inauguration of Ayodhya Ram temple.
The auspicious time window of 84 seconds for breathing life into the idol of Lord Rama will start at 12:29 minutes and 8 seconds and end at 12:30 minutes and 32 seconds. The spiritual installation of Ram Lalla will be followed by a maha puja and a maha aarti.
According to Drik Panchang, 22 January is the Dwadashi of Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Pausha. Nakshatra Mrigashira and Yoga Brahma will stay till 8:47 in the morning. Thereafter, Indra Yoga will commence.
Astrology dictates that this 22nd of January is Karma Dwadashi, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On this day, Vishnu took the form of Kurma (tortoise) and supported Mount Mandar on his back, which made the churning of the ocean possible. Lord Rama is the seventh incarnation of Vishnu. Therefore, this day was considered very auspicious for the inauguration of Ram temple and this day was chosen for the inauguration of the temple of Ayodhya. But the reasons do not end here.
Three other auspicious yogas converge on this date — Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Amrit Siddhi Yoga and Ravi Yoga. The union of these three yogas ensures the completion of the work because these yogas remove every obstacle. By the time the entire construction of the temple is completed this year, a convergence of four auspicious yogas will no longer be found this year.
As the Hindu community's dream of restoration of Ram temple in Ayodhya is coming true after almost 500 years of struggle, astrologers advised that 22 January 2024 would be the best date for the work.
