In a setback to newly appointed District Forest Officer ( DFO) in 17 newly created districts in Rajasthan, the finance ministry has turned down financial approval for these posts saying new districts shall continue to be served through old set up.
This has also put a question mark on the appointment of three Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) who have been appointed to look after the newly created three divisions.
Soon after the notification of 17 new districts and three divisions, department of personnel posted DFOs in these new districts and CCFs in divisions.
Forest department additional chief secretary Shikhar Agrawal said that the further action will be taken after apprising the matter to forest minister Hemaram Choudhary.
The forest department sent file to finance department for administrative set up in these districts and divisions on August 28, 2023. The finance department returned the file on September 6, 2023 maintaining that the new districts and divisions may be served through old set up.
