Former IAS Ashok Sampatram’s wife Simrat Kaur contests from Kishangarh Bas

Simrat Kaur wife of retired Ashok Sampatram is contesting on BSP ticket from Kishangarh Bas. Kaur was aspirant of a Congress ticket. But Congress denied her ticket second time and gave it to Deepchand Kheria who had contested last on BSP ticket. Later he joined Congress along with other five winning BSP candidates- Jogendra Singh Awana (Nadbai), Wajib Ali (Nagar), Lakhan Singh (Karauli), Sandeep Yadav (Tijara) and Rajendra Gudha (Udaipurwati).

In 2018 also, Kaur was vying for a ticket from Congress but the party gave ticket to Dr Karan Singh Yadav who finished third after BJP's Ramhet Singh Yadav. BJP has repeated Yadav this time also making it a triangular fight between Kaur, Yadav and Kheria.

Kaur, traditionally from Congress party, was made member of Wild Life Board in 2020.
