Former IPS officer and Bihar's well-known ‘super cop' Shivdeep Lande formally announced that he will contest on the upcoming Bihar elections.
Lande came live on social media and said that he will contest as an independent candidate from two assembly constituencies of Araria and Jamalpur, which is in Munger district
Lande, a 2006 batch IPS officer, had his first posting in Munger while he also served as SP in Araria district. He has great fan following not only in these two districts but across the state. His last posting was IG Purnia.
Launched Hind Sena but will contest as independent
Lande, this year in April had launched his own organisation Hind Sena. But he will contest on these two seats as independent candidate.
He said he has come into politics with the aim of serving the people and “improving the system from within”.
According to him, this is the time for honest and nationalist-minded people to come into politics so that the system can be changed.
Why he decided to contest from these two seats
Jamalpur seat has been an important area of Lande's administrative tenure, where he has strengthened his image among the people as an officer.
Araria is the district, where he has been active for a long time through social work. Both seats are considered challenging in terms of ethnic and social equations, but Lande is confident that the public will vote for honesty and service.
