Ajitabh Sharma, a 1996 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre has some gratifying moments in his 29-year long career. For public servants, these occasions just define the purpose for joining civil services where they have opportunities to transform lives of common people. Sharma is currently serving a principal secretary energy – the position he had handled five years ago also.
In a post shared on social media platform LinkedIn, Sharma narrates two recent incidents which somehow indicate that his work life has come a full circle.
He writes that in public service, one seldom gets the chance to see such full circles — to witness an effort, an attempt, evolve from inception to impact.
“But when it happens, it feels like a quiet sunrise on years of unseen toil of a number of unseen hands and faces,” he writes.
“Two such deeply fulfilling moments came together on 25 September 2025, during the visit of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to Banswara, Rajasthan — moments that made me pause, reflect, and feel profoundly grateful,” he writes.
The first:
On 4 May 2021, during the pandemic, as Chairman, Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL), I had the privilege to sign the country's first Power Purchase Agreement under the KUSUM Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) scheme with Shri Dharmender Kumar from Kotputli, Rajasthan.

And then — as if everything had come a full circle — on 25 September 2025, I found the same Dharmender Kumar with the Hon'ble Prime Minister, narrating how his first and later second KUSUM plants had transformed his life.

The second:
On 20 February 2020, we took an unconventional step at RRECL — signing an Implementation and Support Agreement with NTPC Limited to set up 925 MW of solar generation capacity in Nokh, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, where the state government itself would develop the solar park.

And five years later, in Banswara, watching the Hon'ble Prime Minister dedicate this 925 MW capacity — with an investment of ₹4613 crores — to the people of India, was a deeply moving experience.

There are moments in one's professional journey that quietly — yet powerfully — close the circle.
