An FIR has been lodged against against IPS Puran Kumar's wife and IAS officer Amneet P Kumar, her brother and AAP legislator Amit Mann, and IPS Puran's gunman Sushil following of the family of ASI Sandeep Lather, who allegedly committed suicide after accusing senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar of corruption.
After registering FIR, the family of Lather has agreed for the postmortem followed by cremation, which will take place on Thursday afternoon.
Officials, including Rohtak ASP Shashi Shekhar, SDM Ashish Kumar, and CM's OSD Virender Singh, met the family of Lather to persuade them to allow the post-mortem. The family agreed after FIR was filed against Y Puran Kumar's wife and her brother.
Sandeep Lather, posted in Rohtak, allegedly shot himself on Tuesday around 1 PM, on the roof of a hut in his maternal uncle's field on Dhamar Road. Before his death, he recorded a video and left a four-page suicide note naming IPS Puran Kumar and highlighting serious corruption allegations.
According to sources, the FIR includes charges of abetment of suicide and criminal conspiracy against Amneet Kumar and others. SIT had earlier interrogated IPS Puran's gunman in connection with the case.
The situation in Ladhot village remains tense, with locals gathering outside ASI Lather's home.
