Five Rajasthan state police service (RPS) officers from Rajasthan have been promoted to IPS. These officers include Piyush Dixit, Vishnaram, Pushpendra Singh Rathore, Kamal Shekhawat and Avanish Kumar Sharma. Among them Kamal Shekhawat and Pushpendra Singh Rathore are husband-wife.
All the officers are from 1998 batch Rajasthan Police Service. They have been promoted against the vacant posts of 2024.
Last month, a selection committee meeting was held in Delhi on August 21, 2025 in which they were selected.
Pushpendra Singh Rathore is posted as additional superintendent of Police in ACB while his wife Kamal Shekhawat is posted as additional superintendent of Police at Police Headquarters.
Among other officers, Piyush Dixit is serving as ASP in Intelligence Wing, Vishnaram in ACB and Avnish Kumar Sharma is posted in Special Operations Group.
Two IPS transferred
Meanwhile, Rajasthan government transferred two IPS officers. Adarsh Sidhu, a 2012 batch IPS officer, who was serving as commandant 12th Battalion RAC at New Delhi, has been transferred as superintendent of Pali. He has been replaced by Kewal Ram Rao, who was serving as superintendent of police in CID (human rights).
