It's seems Rajasthan forest minister Sanjay Sharma has an habit of running into unwarranted fights with District Collectors. He put up a dharna at Alwar Collector office demanding release of appointment letter of sanitation workers in Alwar municipality pending for some time due to court intervention.
He accused Collector Artika Shukla of having ulterior motives for not issuing appointment letter to sanitation workers who were waiting for letters since last year when DLB directed municipality to appoint eligible candidates from 2012 recruitment which was stuck in court battle.
Sharma said that he had been following up with Commissioner of Alwar Municipality for issuance of appointment letter. But Commissioner Sohan Singh Naruka dilly dallied the whole issue before getting transferred.
Sharma is not new to controversies with District Collector and officials. He has been caught many times foul-mouthing about officials. In December last year, he entered into an altercation with the then Sikar Collector Mukul Sharma. On his inspection visit of a camp in Sikar, Sharma could not find officials in the camp and he lambasted the officials. When Sikar Collector Mukul Sharma tried to intervene, he took on Sharma in front of public.
After three months Mukul Sharma was transferred but straight to Chief Minister office as Special Secretary to CM.
”These are unpleasant situations. Ministers and politicians should not behave like this with bureaucrats. This is unruly behaviour. Work is done as per the rules. Such pressure tactics don't work in bureaucracy. IAS Association should take up the matter,” said RC Jain, former IAS.
Sanjay Sharma has shown insensitive attitude earlier also
Sanjay Sharma had earlier publicly reprimanded a constable attached to his convoy for sitting in the parked car with AC running on a day when the temperature touching 45 degree. He scolded the constable saying, “Are you a VIP. You are sitting in a parked car with AC on. How can you do that when Prime Minister Modi is calling upon saving oil,” he had said.
That incident drew sharp criticism from public, which reacted that as per the minister only VIP can sit in a parked car. Low ranking constables don't have rights to have AC in scorching heat.
